Vanaf vanavond 20 uur konden we kaartjes kopen voor het Filmfestival Rotterdam. Afgelopen woensdag werd het programma bekend gemaakt. Die avond heb ik alle korte filmbeschrijvingen gelezen en op de website mijn favorieten verzameld. Dit bleken 66 films te zijn 😉
Vanavond kwamen er rond kwart voor 8 achter dat we verder nog niet naar deze lijst hadden gekeken. We logden in op de website en kregen toen alleen de mededeling te zien dat de verkoop om 20 uur zou beginnen en dat er al honderden wachtenden voor ons waren. Helaas konden we niet in ons account kijken welke films ik als favorieten had aangemerkt. Oftewel, er zat niets anders op dan opnieuw de korte filmbeschrijvingen te gaan bekijken. Dit keer niet alle filmbeschrijvingen, maar alleen de films op de dagen dat we naar het filmfestival willen gaan.
Om 20.12 uur zagen we dat we aan de beurt waren. Een paar minuten later waren we 12 filmkaartjes rijker…

In another genius Groundhog Day variation, Hong Sangsoo doubles the story of a film director wandering around Suwon, waiting for a screening and Q&A of his film. But is it a story or a film?
Sayonara
Japan after the nuclear disaster. A lonely girl is waiting for the evacuation together with her only friend, a female android that is almost indistinguishable from a human being. A touching, subtle and visually brilliant film on displacement, alienation and the nature of emotions. Moreover, it features the most charming android ever played by a real android!
The Whispering Star
A humanoid robot travels in her rickety, rented spaceship from planet to planet, delivering parcels. Meditative, minimalist and absurdist anti-sci-fi by all-rounder Sono Sion (Tokyo Tribe). The stunning, apocalyptic black-and-white images were shot near Fukushima’s devastated nuclear power station.
We hebben er weer zin in!!!
